AmeriscanGPR recently completed a concrete imaging services project. The purpose of
this survey was to map rebar patterns and locate any in-slab electrical conduits or other obstructions that may interfere with proposed slab penetrations. In order to do so AmeriscanGPR utilized ground penetrating radar and radio detection technology. The specific equipment used for this scope of work was The Conquest Concrete Imaging System and the RD7000 radio detection wand. The Conquest GPR unit specializes in evaluating concrete structures and detecting embedded metallic/non-metallic objects. In order to collect data, grid scans were performed, which collect cross-sectional lines to produce 3D concrete slice images. This makes it very easy to see if there are any objects in the field. Additionally, the RD7000 radio detection unit, when set to power mode, is able to detect the electromagnetic field surrounding electrical lines. Findings were marked on the floor in tape, for easy identification.
